Our Products

We offer two levels of subscriptions to our data.

Premium Features

Premium subscribers receive an hourly sentiment data feed, access to our development API, a strategy testing consultation, and 12+ years of historical sentiment data including 400 sentiments, topics, and tones from on 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs.

Data Feed. Premium subscribers receive all of the basic subscription features plus between 12 and 26 years of 400 quantified sentiment, topics, and tones in historical textual data from social media, earnings conference call transcripts, financial news, and regulatory filings for over 7,000 U.S. equities. We also offer internal Python scripting and R-based testing tools and have quantitative analysts and software developers on staff to assist you. Please contact us for service details and pricing.

Basic Features

Basic subscribers includes access to our weekly newsletter, charting tools, language watch, preset stock and ETF screens, and email alerts.

Newsletter. Our Sunday newsletter explains money-making features of our website, helps flag equities and ETFs that have psychological activity of interest, and explains recent and upcoming market and stock-specific events from a psychological perspective.

Charting Tools allow users to visualize the "psychological vital signs" of their stocks of interest. For example, users may enter the ticker of a U.S. stocks or ETF and see a graphical timeline of trends in Investor Buzz, overall Positivity and Negativity, Fear, or other sentiments super-imposed on a stock price chart. Not all stocks are available - only those 1,000 stocks that on any day have adequate news flow and conversation to allow us to present meaningful information.

Language Watch displays a daily chronology of important changes in investor sentiment, tone, or topic in daily conversation.

Stock and ETF Screens allow users to generate investment ideas by seeing the stocks whose investors are expressing the highest levels of Optimism, Pessimism, Love, Hate, Spreading Rumors of Fraud, Joy, Panicking, and Uncertainty. Preset screens also offer comparative metrics including relative levels of "bubble" investing in different sectors.

Email alerts. Our subscribers can specify their sectors or stocks of interest and then will receive notifications of language activity that spikes to a threshold of interest or has been determined to have predictive value. For example, users who decide to follow AAPL (Apple Inc.) will be emailed the daily language activity of interest in the social and news media about AAPL. Alerts allow you to become aware of investment opportunities and risks in real-time.

Trade Ideas. Based on rigorous testing, our trading ideas have been shown to be valid ideas in training sets consisting of 45% of our data and also in cross-sectional hold-outs (a random selection of tickers), temporal hold-outs (a sample of every fifth quarter), and a final out-of-sample set (consisting of 2010). Most of our trade ideas are based on rules that underlay trading in the MarketPsy Long-Short Fund LP, a market neutral hedge fund with substantial outperformance (audited).
